Our at-home custom whitening impression kits are super easy to use. Your kit will include the upper and lower impression trays with a catalyst and base material. Simply mix the catalyst and base material together, then roll the putty like material into a semi-circle and place evenly around the arch of the tray before inserting into your mouth. Take the top and bottom impressions separately and use your hands to gently push up (from the base of the tray) to get an even impression of your teeth in the material. Wait 20-30 seconds until set. Don’t forget to rinse the impressions and disinfect before returning to The Holistic Hygienist.

With your kit, you will also receive a pre-paid return postage bag. Once the impressions are complete, post them back to us so we can make your custom trays! Your custom trays may take up to 14 days to receive.

Step one: Make sure you have charged your wireless light prior to whitening your teeth.

Step two: Plug tray into the base of the wireless light. Ensure it is seated properly and pushed right in so it is sitting flush (no gaps).

Step three: Place your finger on the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds. It is touch NOT push. Then insert into mouth and whiten as per instructions!

We adhere to the safety guidelines set out by the Dental Board of Australia and our products are deemed safe to use by the Therapeutic Goods Administration.

Whilst we would like to confirm our products are safe to use by all, each individual is different and may be sensitive to some products.

We always recommend seeing a Dental professional prior to whitening your teeth to ensure you’re dentally fit and free from gum disease, tooth decay, recently cracked teeth, abfractions (micro-cracks) and or leaking fillings, or anything other teeth concerns that may cause sensitivity.

Avoid using teeth whitening products whilst pregnant and breastfeeding.

Avoid using if you’re under the age of 18 unless advised by your Dental professional.

While there is no research to suggest teeth whitening is harmful to pregnant or breastfeeding women, The Holistic Hygienist recommends avoiding all teeth whitening treatments while pregnant or breastfeeding.

Our teeth whitening kits are not intended to lighten crowns, caps, veneers or porcelain, discoloured fillings, composite or other restorative materials.

We recommend whitening teeth prior to the replacement of any fillings or fabrication of new crowns and veneers, this allows your dentist to colour match to your new whitened teeth. The Holistic Hygienist suggests speaking to your Dental Professional prior to treatment to assess options.

It is common for individuals to experience some tooth sensitivity post-treatment. This is usually mild and should subside within 24 hours. Prior to teeth whitening, we always recommend having a check up with your dental health care professional to ensure you’re dentally fit for teeth whitening.

If whitening gel comes into contact with your gums, cheeks and lips during treatment it may cause mild inflammation. The inflammation is usually temporary and should subside quickly.

If inflammation does occur, apply our Vitamin E oil to the area to sooth and restore hydration.

If you experience dryness or chapping of the lips or cheek margins after using our whitening kits, apply our Vitamin E oil.

Remember to follow the Whitening Kit instructions carefully to minimise your risk of sensitivity and gum inflammation.

During treatment, your teeth absorb peroxide which releases oxygen inside the pores of your teeth, yes our teeth have pores! The oxygen causes teeth to dehydrate while also oxidising the discolouration of your teeth – making them appear very white. After you have completed the whitening process your teeth will appear much brighter due to the oxygen that remains inside the pores.

As your teeth begin to rehydrate and the oxygen leaves the pores, your teeth will appear slightly less bright. This usually happens over a two to three week period. We recommend using our Whitening Pen after treatment to maintain your brightness!

The active ingredients in our whitening products are carbamide peroxide and hydrogen peroxide We use these ingredients as they are more effective at stain removal compared with charcoal or bicarbonate soda based whitening products. You can expect your teeth to sparkle for 3-6 months after your whitening treatment. Individual results will vary and are dependent on diet, lifestyle choices and the level of stains prior to treatment

There are two types of stains that affect teeth – extrinsic (outside the tooth) and intrinsic (inside the tooth). Charcoal teeth whitening will lift some extrinsic staining while carbamide and hydrogen peroxide teeth whitening will lift both intrinsic and extrinsic stains depending on the course of treatment.

Carbamide peroxide and Hydrogen peroxide work by releasing free radicals into the teeth which cause a reaction with, and break down, the high concentrated pigment molecules (the molecules that stain or discolour teeth).

We avoid charcoal based whitening products as prolonged use will strip the tooth enamel.
